René SAVOIE

René SAVOIE is part of the IFSA lecturers since 2003.

Until end of 2019 he was an aeronautical engineer within Airbus Customer Services in charge of the engineering support of hydro-mechanical systems for all Airbus aircraft.

He started his career in 1979 as a Flight controls support engineer on the Concorde program and then he moved to the Airbus Customer support department where he was involved in all Entry Into Service of new programs from A310 to A350.

During this period of time, he has been in charge of the engineering support of several major aircraft systems as well as the setup of the crisis cell which is activated in case of Airbus aircraft accident, he was also the corresponding logistic manager.

He was also in charge of the selection of the Airbus technical advisors and members of the Airbus “go team” for the structure, engine and systems domains.

Since the beginning of the 90’s, he has participated to several on site investigations of Airbus aircraft accident as aircraft manufacturer technical advisor accredited by the French BEA.

René is also a qualified instructor for Bloodborne pathogens protection
