This workshop-type training proposes a practical complement for aviation safety personnel or accident investigators to enhance their efficiency in communicating, in resolving problems and in making decisions.

This training is one of the 5 modules of the series to qualify as an expert in SMS and one of the 4 modules of the series to qualify as an expert on Aircraft Accident Investigation.

  • To use appropriate problem solving and decision making techniques, adapted to the context of preventing or investigating aviation accidents and incidents.
  • Problem solving: what the problem is and is not, how to find out facts and opinions, defining the problem causes, working out possible solutions, and selecting the most appropriate.
  • Making a decision: implementing, protecting and controlling an action plan.
  • Reasoning method applicable to solving an aviation accident or incident.
  • Practical exercises and case studies.

All personnel involved in the aviation safety process, either in charge of conceiving and conducting an accident prevention programme or taking part in an aviation accident or incident investigation.
